The Christ King of El Cubilete is even more beautiful

Works like this highlight the majesty of the historic and emblematic sites of Guanajuato

The Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, delivered the new Stage Lighting System and the rehabilitation of the road to the National Votive Sanctuary of Christ the King of Peace.

“Guanajuatenses are very privileged to have been born in a land that is rich in history, heroes, culture, traditions, values ​​and historical monuments”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.

“Along with this privilege comes the responsibility to care for and protect this valuable historical and cultural heritage,” said the Governor.

These works were carried out by the State Government, through the Secretary of Infrastructure, Connectivity and Mobility -SICOM- with an investment of 16.4 million pesos.

In these actions, the monument, the dome of the temple, the esplanade, the roof, the parking wall, the bedroom wall, the walkway, the columns of the main entrance and the retaining walls were illuminated.

The rehabilitation of 10.87 kilometers of the road to the Sanctuary of Cristo Rey was also delivered, from the community of Banos de Aguas Buenas to the Monument, where the repair of retaining walls was also included.

These works, where almost 44 million pesos were invested, benefit residents of communities and merchants in the area, and more than 3.5 million pilgrims who climb the Cerro El Cubilete every year.

With these actions, the Government of Guanajuato contributes to highlight the beauty and majesty of the historic and emblematic sites of Guanajuato, thereby promoting tourism that results in investments, jobs and economic benefits for the development and prosperity of Guanajuatense families.

Present at the delivery of these works were the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Leon, Monsignor Alfonso Cortes Contreras, and the Rector of the Sanctuary of Christ the King, Ruben de la Cruz Martinez.
