The Secretary of Tourism invited the tourism sector to continue advancing and give visibility to tourist attractions in the 46 municipalities

Authentic travelers reaffirmed that Guanajuato is a destination that enchants for its treasures, experiences, events, gastronomy, services, venues and tourist cities.
In the Alhóndiga de Granaditas, a majestic venue of historical relevance in Guanajuato City, the Government of the State of Guanajuato, through the Ministry of Tourism, held last night the second edition of the “Best of Guanajuato” Awards, a Mexican competition Unknown, a reference medium in international tourism.
These “awards go beyond the well-deserved medal, they are about giving visibility to those who makes of Guanajuato the Greatness of Mexico and they are all of you, the tourism sector. With this, Guanajuato wins and our industry continues to be a reference in the country and in the world,” highlighted Juan José Álvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato.
In this edition, 21 categories were awarded, 16,556 nominations were achieved – a record number in these awards -, of which 128 were finalists, and 123,000 votes were cast, figures that surpassed the first edition of the Awards last year.
The categories and winners are:
- “Best experience in the Archaeological Zone”: Canada de la Virgen, in San Miguel de Allende
- “Best experience in a museum”: Regional Museum of Guanajuato Alhondiga de Granaditas, in Guanajuato City
- “Best nature encounter activity”: Visit to the Leon Zoological Park
- “Best gastronomic festival in Guanajuato”: Sabores de San Miguel
- “Best gourmet restaurant”: Casa Mercedes, in Guanajuato City
- “Best traditional restaurant”: Enchiladas Mineras Doña Lupe
- “Best traditional cook”: Ma. Graciela Rodríguez Loyola, from Doctor Mora
- “Best chef”; Karen Valadez, from Guanajuato City
- “Best venue to enjoy sports activities”: La Fragua Bike Park, in Guanajuato City
- “Best boutique hotel to live a unique experience”: Casa del Rector Hotel Boutique, in Guanajuato City
- “Best traditional hotel for a family trip”: Hotel Real de Minas, in San Miguel de Allende
- “Best wellness experience”: Escondido Place, in San Miguel de Allende
- “Best Comprehensive Wine Tourism Experience”: Vinedo San Miguel, in Comonfort
- “Best venue to celebrate a wedding”: Agua Bendita, in San Miguel de Allende
- “Wedding Planner with the best innovation”: Penzi Wedding & Events, in San Miguel de Allende
- “Best place, fair or event to have fun in the State”: Cervantino International Festival, in Guanajuato City
- “Best tourism content creator in the State”: Mas Guanajuato, in Guanajuato Capital

- “Best tourist route-experience between agaves, spirits and craft beer”: Tequila tasting experience and pairings with Candy Perez from Tequila Corralejo, in Pénjamo
- “Best pop-up venue for a MICE event”: Hacienda Catarina Hotel Boutique & Spa, in Silao
- “Best tourist destination in the State”: Guanajuato City
- “Special Award for Tourist Guide career”: was awarded to Professor Salvador Santacruz Urdiales, from Guanajuato City
- “Sustainable Tourism Award”: to Hacienda Canada de la Virgen, in San Miguel de Allende, and to the Mestizo Gastronomic Festival, in San José Iturbide
- “Accessible Tourism Award”: to Coyote Canyon Adventures, in San Miguel de Allende
“Thank you to all the tourism sector because without you we would not have achieved, first of all, the assignment that our Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo gave us at the beginning of the administration, that the objective was to exalt the people of Guanajuato taking into account the heritage, the history, but above all this moment in which tourist destinations in Guanajuato are in the eyes of the whole world,” said Alvarez Brunel.
