Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, inaugurated the Second International Forum on Migration organized by the Secretary for Migrants and International Relations of the Government of Guanajuato.
This Forum compiles lines of action, visions and recommendations for the design of public policies, through the vision of specialists, academics and actors immersed in the analysis of migration.
“It is a Forum that helps us promote dialogue, reflection and analysis between specialists and academics, on a subject in which we must combine efforts. Respect for the rights of dignity of migrants has always been a public policy in Guanajuato,” said Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo.
They talked about the needs of human mobility and actions that allow to mitigate the effect of migration in all its modalities:
- Origin, destination, transit and return
The International Migration Forum is part of the activities of Migrants Week, a series of events developed with the aim of commemorating International Migrants Day, to be celebrated on December 18.
Within Migrant Week, the Second Gathering with Migrant Leaders and International Communities was held on December 17 and the Second Migrant Parade on December 18.
Guanajuato has become a place of destination, transit, and return for migrants. Given this reality, it is necessary to have spaces in which the voices are heard and the views of specialists, academics and civil society are analyzed.
“The goal in the Secretary for Migrants is to generate the conditions of social justice and the ideal economic, labor and social conditions so that no Guanajuatense has to migrate from our State due to lack of opportunities,” said the Governor.
