In order to exchange indigenous language learning strategies and promoting actions to strengthen the –hñöhñö- language, the Secretary of Education of Guanajuato, through the Regional Delegation I, held the Fourth Regional Meeting of Teachers in indigenous language.

Teachers from zones 15, 59, 76, 94 and 187, who provide basic education centers in Dolores Hidalgo and San Miguel de Allende, shared their learning processes and applied strategies to motivate students in teaching and using of the -hñöhñö- language, a symbol of identity and belonging.

During the day, a project planning proposal was developed, based on the approaches of the new Study Plan, based on the integration of the contents of Indigenous Language; exercise guided by Adelaida Delgado Ramirez, Supervisor of zone 82 of elementaery level.

With the implementation of study programs through technical pedagogical training to teachers, the design of didactic materials in the indigenous language and the formulation of strategies for their use in the classroom, actions are promoted to reinforce identity and promote interculturality with cultural manifestations. specific to each context, such as music, dance, clothing, singing, gastronomy and traditions.

On the occasion of the celebration of the Valentine’s Day, the teachers promote the exchange of correspondence in –ñhöñhö- with cards produced by the fifth and sixth grade students seeking that among pairs they develop the ability of effective communication through written messages and a taste for reading and writing is encouraged in students, in addition to preserving the mother tongue.

The meeting held at CEDE San Miguel de Allende concluded that it is essential to work together to continue promoting inclusion and sustainable development of indigenous communities in education.

The Secretary of Education of Guanajuato promotes the learning of the mother tongue in the classrooms, and continues with the task of providing the teaching team with the ideal didactic tools to strengthen the language and culture.
