In the fertile lands of Tarimoro, Guanajuato, one of the region’s most emblematic products is born: the peanut and from this municipality, La Tarimorense, a proudly Guanajuato-based company led by women, has managed to conquer international markets, primarily in the United States, thanks to the support of the People’s Government and the assistance of COFOCE.

Founded in 2007 with the mission of promoting authentic Guanajuatense peanuts, La Tarimorense has combined tradition, innovation, and entrepreneurial vision to grow in a competitive international market. These women have been working closely with COFOCE for over 10 years, and seven years ago they began exporting, participating in international fairs, where they connect with buyers who value the authentic and nostalgic flavor of their products.

Adriana Ramirez, a company representative, comments: “Our vision is to bring all of our products abroad, primarily because they are nostalgic. We have four selections of criollo peanuts with which we make products under the ‘Gueba’ brand, a symbol of Guanajuato to the world.”

What sets La Tarimorense apart is its artisanal process and added value. They carefully select peanuts based on color and texture for different products: roasted peanuts, mixology liqueur, and the traditional pickled peanut, made with vinegar fermented by hand following a family recipe. The latter has been widely accepted both in El Bajio region and the United States.

The company is also characterized by its social and economic commitment, generating jobs for women in the community, contributing to local development and the transformation of the lives of Tarimorense families who benefit from secure jobs that guarantee economic sustenance.

In the first quarter of 2025, Tarimoro recorded exports of $2.4 million, representing a 6.7% increase compared to the same period last year, with 100% of these products going to the U.S. market.

“I’m very proud that the product we make will reach so many homes,” said Lizeth Lara, part of the team. Silvia Bavino adds: “Exporting abroad means not losing our tradition.”

The People’s Government of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, promotes policies to decentralize economic development, bringing real opportunities to MSMEs outside the industrial corridor. Through COFOCE, these companies, which are the true wealth of Guanajuato, are strengthened.

“Because although it’s simple, it manages to reach a large territory and also bring our culinary culture to all countries,” said Lizeth Lara, summarizing the spirit of La Tarimorense, today a benchmark that brings the flavor of Guanajuato to the world.
