The State Coordination of Civil Protection provided support to a young woman about to give birth on the San Felipe-Silao highway after the family vehicle broke down
The intervention, in coordination with the C5i, protected the integrity and calm of the family, as well as that of its new member who was about to be born

In an act that reflects the spirit of service of the State Coordination of Civil Protection, members of this agency provided support to a family facing a medical emergency on the San Felipe-Silao highway: A young woman in labor was assisted promptly, which allowed for her safe transfer to the hospital.
The incident occurred at kilometer 7 of the San Felipe-Silao State highway, near the El Jitomatal community, where Jesus N. and his wife were traveling with their 24-year-old daughter who was about to give birth.
On the way to the T-54 Clinic of the Mexican Social Security Institute -IMSS- in Silao, the family vehicle suffered a failure in the electrical system, leaving the family stranded and unable to continue their journey.
After receiving the alert call, members of the State Coordination of Civil Protection immediately went to the scene; upon arrival, they provided primary care to the young woman in labor and through the C5i they coordinated the arrival of an ambulance. Meanwhile, they helped bring the vehicle to a safe area with a telephone signal so that the family mechanic could take care of the necessary repairs.
The young woman was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, arriving still in labor but in good health. Thanks to timely care, the baby was able to come into the world in a safe environment and surrounded by the love of the family.
The Secretary of Security and Peace reaffirms its commitment to serve and protect families and reminds citizens that in any emergency they can call 911.
Officials said that they work closely to strengthen trust among authorities and the community, and thus make Guanajuato a better place to grow and live.
