The Secretary of Health has provided 3,739 services to migrants this year across six municipalities.

These municipalities are:

  • Salamanca, Valle de Santiago, Jaral del Progreso, Yuriria, Moroleon and Uriangato

International Migrants Day is a date that invites to recognize and support the stories, journeys, and challenges of those who migrate in search of better opportunities for their lives and their families.

Health Jurisdiction V Salamanca, reinforces the commitment to the health and dignity of migrants, offering warm and close care during their transit, whether within the country or from other nations.

The goal is for all people (regardless of their origin or immigration status) to receive information, support, and services that protect their well-being during their journey. During 2025, services have been provided to 3,739 migrants in the six municipalities of this jurisdiction.

Among the benefited there are national migrants, who move between states or municipalities; international migrants, who travel from other countries, and returned migrants, who temporarily return to their place of origin, especially for patron saint festivals.

The Health Promotion area has strengthened its presence in communities through participatory workshops aimed at migrants and their families, as well as education materials and bulletin boards with clear and accessible information.

The topics covered include chronic non-infectious diseases, oral health, sexual and reproductive health, pregnancy prevention, postpartum care, mental health and prevention of infectious diseases, among other.

To ensure safe and comprehensive care, health cards are provided and migrants from Central America are supported with the issuance of a generic CURP, which allows them to receive services under the guaranteed package, considering their age, needs and life path.

The municipality with the highest migrant flow this year has been Uriangato, while in 2023 and 2024 it was Salamanca.

Attention to migrants remains active for all people who pass through our region.

The offered services are:

  • Medical attention
  • Free calls to family members
  • Space for personal hygiene
  • Food
  • Sleeping area
  • All of this is free of charge, with the purpose of accompanying and protecting those who are in transit
