The Secretary of Health increases the prevention actions to protect the health of Guanajuatenses who visit cemeteries on the Day of the Dead

In anticipation of the Day of the Dead festivities, personnel from the Vector Control Unit of Health Jurisdiction VI Irapuato implemented prevention and control actions in the cemeteries of the six municipalities that make up the jurisdiction, to reduce the presence of the mosquito that transmits Dengue fever.

The activities included spatial and thermal fogging, focused on eliminating adult mosquitoes, and larval control, which consists of identifying and eliminating breeding grounds or water deposits where the mosquito reproduces.

“Our staff works every day to protect the health of the population, but prevention begins at home and in public spaces. If we avoid leaving trash or containers with water, we help reduce mosquito breeding grounds,” said Deborah Duenas Aguado, head of Health Jurisdiction VI, as she noted the importance of citizen participation in these actions.

The Jurisdiction urges the public to visit cemeteries with insect repellent, sunscreen, a hat or cap, and long-sleeved clothing, in addition to keeping clean the place they visit.
The Guanajuato State Health Secretary and Health Jurisdiction VI reaffirm their commitment to the health and well-being of Guanajuatense families.
