Salamanca/Gto News
The Guanajuato Health Department has all the vaccines for the universal vaccination program available.

This program is focused, first and foremost on immunizing children, in order to protect them from multiple diseases that can affect their development and even put their lives at risk.

The protection of individual and collective health is of utmost importance for the Salamanca Health Jurisdiction V, which, through its 60 health units, has the following biologicals available:
- BCG: Prevents tuberculosis and should be administered to newborns
- Anti-Hepatitis: Prevents infections by the hepatitis B virus and is administered at birth
For girls and boys under one year of age, the following are available:
- Anti-influenza: Protects the body from flu virus infections
- Hexavalent: Protects against diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, polio, among other diseases
- Anti-pneumococcal: Prevents the child from suffering from any pneumococcal infection
- Anti-rotavirus: Prevents children from acquiring infections that cause severe diarrhea, which leads to severe dehydration and even death

From one year of age (12 months) the following apply:
- Anti-pneumococcal: Booster
- Triple Viral (SRP): Prevents measles, rubella and mumps
At one and a half years of age (18 months) the person is vaccinated against:
- Measles, Rubella and Mumps: Second dose
- Hexavalent: Booster vaccine

When they turn four, girls and boys should be vaccinated against:
- Diphtheria, Whooping cough and Tetanus: Triple bacterial, booster dose
Also, the clinics of the Secretary of Health of Guanajuato have vaccines for pregnant women (TDPA), who can go to health units from the 20th week of pregnancy and anti-pneumococcal vaccines for adults over 60 years of age.

All the aforementioned vaccines are completely free of charge. People who come to the health centers are only asked to bring their National Vaccination Card so that the medical and/or nursing staff can check that their vaccination schedule is up to date.
The basic vaccination schedule is a set of immunizations recommended by health authorities to prevent serious infectious diseases in the population.

These vaccines are administered primarily during childhood, although some require boosters in adolescence and adulthood.
The effort of the Secretary of Health of Guanajuato is to protect individual and collective health by preventing infectious diseases and promoting community immunity.
