A rebound in Covid 19 cases is expected in the coming weeks during the fall-winter season, said Daniel Diaz Martinez, Secretary of Health.
The rebound is due to the fact that the Covid 19 virus is already a disease declared endemic, that is; the virus circulates in Mexican and Guanajuato territory. It will have a seasonal behavior very similar to influenza, said Diaz Martinez.
A positivity of 10 percent to 20 percent is expected, however, there are no serious cases, not even using a ventilator.
Unfortunately, last week a death was recorded of a person over 70 years of age without vaccination and who had other comorbidities such as diabetes and hypertension.
Approximately one million vaccines will be applied, there will be cases, however, unlike the beginning of the pandemic, much less mortality is expected. There is still no certainty about the vaccines that will arrive in Guanajuato territory since this depends on the Federal Government.
For now, for this winter season, Daniel Diaz sent a message to the population and advised all to wear warm clothing that protects from the cold, avoid sudden changes in temperature, consume foods with high content of Vitamin “C” and “D”, fruits, vegetables, in addition to drinking plenty of fluids, to strengthen the immune system.
Diaz Martinez pointed out that people who have a health risk, such as elders, people with chronic diseases, or who have an affected immune system, should continue using face masks in closed spaces preferably and place alcohol gel on their hands.
