SSG confirms 4 more cases of measles, all already recovered

A cumulative total of 10 cases is  reported on the federal platform. Guanajuato triples vaccination with the operation of Macrocenters

The Secretary of Health confirmed four additional cases of measles, for a total of 10 registered so far in Guanajuato.

All patients have recovered and are asymptomatic, and no further spread has been identified among their contacts.

Health Secretary Gabriel Cortes Alcala reported that the cases have been addressed promptly and under epidemiological surveillance, which has allowed the situation to be kept under control.

The transmission occurred from person to person in specific settings. One case involved coworkers after a trip to Mexico City. Another case involved six-month-old twins. In both scenarios, immediate action was taken to prevent further infections.

Most of the cases are in people between 30 and 42 years old. Seven cases are from Leon, two more from the Apaseo region, and one from Cueramaro. Some patients had incomplete vaccination schedules or were unaware of their vaccination history.

Vaccination and health measures have been implemented with close contacts to prevent the spread of the virus.

The Secretary noted that the installation of Macrocenters and the intensification of vaccination have strengthened the preventive strategy, by increasing the monthly application of vaccines from 24,000 to 75,000 doses.

Currently, more than 300,000 doses are available at Health Centers, and additional doses continue to arrive to bolster coverage.

Officials invite all Guanajuatenses to review their vaccination schedule and, if necessary, visit their local Health Center to complete any missing doses.

Guanajuato maintains permanent epidemiological surveillance and continues to advance in protecting the population through universal vaccination.
