Skills are recognized with micro-credentials

The Secretary of Economy is promoting this initiative for the practical recognition of skills and occupations

The Government of the People transforms the way in which skills and knowledge are recognized with the development of the micro-credential strategy in Guanajuato.

Under the leadership of Governor Libia Denisse Garcia Munoz Ledo, this model will allow students, workers and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises -MSMEs- to improve their employability and competitiveness in key sectors to improve the economy of the people.

The head of the Ministry of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, promotes this key tool to strengthen the local economy by opening new opportunities for labor mobility and employability.

Microcredentials are accreditations awarded by higher education institutions that certify specific learning, from technical skills to advanced professional competencies.

This system is regulated by the Education Law and the Law for Economic Development and Competitiveness of Guanajuato and seeks to respond to the needs of the labor market in an agile and accessible manner.

In coordination with the “Guanajuato is prosperity” Axis and the Ministry of Education, work is being done to identify the specific needs of each region and sector and to ensure that these certifications respond to the demands of the local and global labor market.

With this initiative, Guanajuato reaffirms its commitment to continuous training and inclusion, recognizing that every talent counts and that practical skills can be the key to a better future.
