Sections of Obstetrics, Surgery and Emergencies are expanded

More than 97 thousand inhabitants of the municipality of Cortazar, were benefited with the expansion and remodeling works of the Community Hospital of Cortazar.
These actions were executed through the agreed work program, in coordination of the Secretary of Health and the Secretary of Infrastructure, Connectivity and Mobility -SICOM-, with an investment of more than 18.2 million pesos.
Tarcisio Rodriguez Martinez, head of SICOM, reported that for the expansion and remodeling of this hospital, construction and improvement actions were made in the Obstetrics, Surgery and Emergency areas; in addition, a decent waiting area was created for patients and family members of users.
In the Surgery area, the general corridor of that section, the post-operative recovery room, the work área of nurses, the anesthesia and janitorial areas were remodeled.
As for the Obstetrics area, the area was expanded to have an obstetrics assessment and preparation office, an expulsion room, nurses’ workspace, sterile storage, two preparation beds, two postpartum recovery beds, and septic, cleaning, storage and clean clothing areas, explained Rodriguez Martinez.
The Emergency section was remodeled and expanded, and it already has in operation:
- 3 observation beds, a nursing station, shock room, foot bath, decontamination, oral rehydration area, plaster and healing room, office for taking signs and Triage, social work office, as well as a better control and cashier area
The remodeling of the Cortazar Community Hospital also included actions in the external area of the building, among them:
- The construction of the Dignified Waiting area, ambulance access cover, a cistern, air room on the roof, expansion of the manifold room, which is where medical gases are controlled, in addition to the releveling of exterior works for patient access and delivery to the mourner
This is one of the medical infrastructure works that were brought into service this year, which fulfills the commitment of the Governor, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, to dignify the spaces where health care is provided to Guanajuatenses.
