The “Paper Adventures” pedagogical strategy, framed in the alliance of the Secretary of Education of Guanajuato, the Natura Institute and UNESCO, is already in the classrooms of 531 primary schools, which are added to this second stage of the program, in order to strengthen the teaching-learning process of reading and writing for girls and boys from first to third grade of primary school.
This was announced by the coordinator of Educational Development, of the IV Regional Delegation, based in Irapuato, Francisco Daniel Rendon Conteras, who said that, after the training generated on digital platforms and in-person activities, the teachers began their work in the classrooms in the current 2023-2024 school year.
“The importance of having started this program from the first weeks of this new school year is important to comply with the plans and programs for the improvement of learning, as detailed in the Social Pact for Education in Guanajuato,” said Rendon Conteras.
The official commented that the reinforcement of the learning of reading and writing of the 54,260 primary school students will have the support of more than 2,000 first, second and third grade teachers in the 531 schools in the Region IV of the SEG.
Gloria Sandoval Gutierrez, head of the Department of Multigrade Schools of the Directorate of Educational Inclusion of the Undersecretary of Basic Education, worked, in a mixed manner, with Educational Authorities, Directors and Technical Pedagogical Advisors –ATP-, on three fundamental points for the start-up and application of this literacy training tool.
These aspects are:
- Knowledge of the Initial Learning Diagnostic Instrument –IDAI-, for girls and boys
- Knowledge of the levels of conceptualization of writing and knowledge of the Literacy Kit, which includes booklets with training activities for teachers in front of a group
Sandoval Gutierrez explained that in this stage of methodological application of “Paper Adventures”, it will be essential to strengthen fundamental learning where mothers and fathers will have to play an important role to build literate communities that reinforce educational quality.
