Security Plan for Independence Celebration is ready

Security institutions of the three levels of government and emergency corps are preparing the surveillance and protection operation for the Fiestas Patrias in the 46 municipalities of Guanajuato

A total of 24,049 state, federal and municipal elements, as well as emergency corps make up the force

In order to maintain order and surveillance during the Grito de Independencia (Call for Independence) ceremonies in the 46 municipalities, State, Federal and Municipal authorities, in addition to emergency services, will participate in the security operation.

The force is made up of a total of 24,049 personnel from the various public security departments of the three levels of government. The operation will be supported by more than 4,000 units of all types to deal with any contingency.

There will be patrols, first response units, fire engines, motorcycles, ATVs, ambulances, fire trucks, tankers, cranes and helicopters from the FSPE’s Arcangeles Group, equipped with high technology for aerial video surveillance.

The deployment will be carried out throughout the state territory based on the operational plan carried out with the aim of maintaining public order, peace and social coexistence, as well as the contingency plan for these festivities.

Authorities maintain an ongoing coordination with the 46 municipalities of Guanajuato, to monitor patriotic celebrations in urban and rural areas at all times, through the installation of various fixed and mobile security devices in strategic locations.

Participating in this operation are:

• The State Public Security Secretary, through the General Commission of the State Public Security Forces
• The State C5i System
• The State Coordination of Civil Protection
• The State Attorney General’s Office

Participating on behalf of the federal authorities are:

• The Ministry of Defense
• The National Guard
• The Attorney General’s Office
• The National Intelligence Center

Adding to the force locally are:

• The police and municipal traffic corporations of the 46 municipalities
• The Guanajuato State Emergency System -SUEG-
• The Municipal Civil Protection Units
• The Red Cross
• The State Firefighters Volunteer support groups
