In order to strengthen the image of Guanajuato as a tourist destination, the State Secretary of Tourism and Identity, through the Directorate of Tourism Competitiveness, carried out the training “The image of Guanajuato tourism is made by all of us” which was given to the first line of attention to tourists in Guanajuato City.

Under the vision of the People’s Government, headed by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, and with the management of the Secretary of Tourism and Identity, Lupita Robles Leon, the need to strengthen the narrative and the tourist service in Guanajuato was identified. In response, this training was designed to raise awareness and provide tools to service providers, improving their communication and their ability to serve tourists.

In the training that took place at the Traditional Abadia Hotel in Guanajuato, 70 tourism service providers from different municipalities participated, including:

  • Comonfort, Guanajuato, Irapuato, San Miguel de Allende, Dolores Hidalgo CIN, San Luis de la Paz, San Diego de la Union, Leon, Valle de Santiago, Purisima del Rincon, Penjamo, Celaya, Romita, Juventino Rosas and Silao de la Victoria

The training, given by instructor Jesus Salas Navarro, addressed key topics such as emotional intelligence in emergencies, a win-win vision in tourism, assertive communication and the importance of becoming ambassadors of the destination.

The training strategy is part of the new vision regarding tourism competitiveness, where actions arise from the needs detected by the service providers who are in the first line of attention to tourists. The goal is for each member of the tourism value chain to be better prepared to provide an excellent service, thus ensuring a memorable experience for visitors and strengthening the tourism industry of Guanajuato.

With these actions, the Government of the People reaffirms its commitment to improve the quality of life of those who make up the tourism value chain, especially those on the front line of service to visitors, who through their work drive the economic and social development of Guanajuato.
