The Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato raised awareness, through the 3rd. Social Tourism Day, to tourism actors about the importance of attention and inclusion of all people in tourism.
At the Hotel Hotsson de Silao, Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, inaugurated this gathering that favors full, effective participation and in equal conditions for the benefit of families, youth, the elderly, people with disabilities and groups.
“We must be clear that our social tourist -individuals who, due to their low budgetary capacity, are excluded from the possibility of accessing tourist leisure- require significant attention, if we do not understand it that way, it will be difficult for us to satisfy their experience and we would lose a great deal of chance. The most important thing about this gathering is to go deep into this differentiator and keep Guanajuato a leader in Social Tourism,” said the Secretary of Tourism during the inauguration.
This event, organized by SECTUR, through the Social Tourism Directorate, was supported by ISTO which recognizes Guanajuato as a destination that promotes better quality of services for its inhabitants, said Isabel Novoa, president from ISTO, who was present virtually.
“It is an honor to support the commitment that Guanajuato has with tourism for all people. All of us who work in tourism know that traveling is much more than moving to another place, it is an opportunity to connect with yourself and with the community you visit. Our commitment to tourism, with a positive social impact, is our priority and for this reason we support the development of more inclusive and fair public policies for all”, said the president.
“All tourist activity must be sustainable and social or it will not work, all this has as its final destination the construction of well-being for our families and a better way of living. A responsible, supportive and social practice must be part of the management of a new tourism. It is no coincidence that Guanajuato is a leader in this”, said Sergio Rodriguez Abitia, president of the International Social Tourism Organization of the Americas.
“What we have managed to do in Guanajuato, keeps us as a competitive and innovative state. We will continue working, through the training of the sector, to improve the quality of services to generate inclusive tourist products, creating comprehensive, safe and comfortable tourist experiences for all people”, said Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel.
