“The prevention, early detection and treatment of cancer require the effective integration of all actors in the system”, said Secretary of Health of Guanajuato Gabriel Cortes Alcala at the inauguration of the 42nd National Congress of Oncology and II International Congress.

Cortes stressed the commitment to support initiatives that encourage the exchange of experiences and knowledge among professionals from different disciplines and regions.

Representing the Governor of the State of Guanajuato, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, Cortes Alcala urged oncologists from across Mexico to join effort and share their knowledge.

This space is to promote research, updating and education in one of the most challenging areas of medicine: oncology.

The objective of this congress is clear and fundamental:

  • To promote knowledge and update the latest innovations and advances in this specialty

Cortes Alcala said that “each one of you plays a crucial role in the fight against cancer, a disease that affects thousands of families in our country and around the world”.

Cortes considered that the dedication and commitment of the attendees are examples of how we can build a more promising future for our patients.

“We are committed to supporting initiatives that foster the exchange of experiences and knowledge among professionals of different disciplines and regions”, said Cortes.

He hoped that these sessions would facilitate learning among colleagues and strengthen the network of support and solidarity in the fight against cancer.

No doubt, this conference is full of innovative ideas, profound reflections and, above all, the desire to continue making progress in improving the care provided to our patients.

Paula Cabrera Galeana, President of the Mexican Society of Oncology, remembered Dr. Sihue Barroso Bravo, who was a member of the Mexican Society of Oncology and who left this world this year precisely because of the disease that occupies this event.

“We are here where we traditionally remember and embrace each other, today it goes beyond remembering because we are facing a disease that worries us, in the end we are going to experience a moment of joy and scholarship throughout the congress”, said Cabrera.
