As part of the efforts that the Secretary of Water and Environment (SAMA) is consolidating through the FOAM Environmental Fund to contribute to energy efficiency, photovoltaic modules were delivered to public buildings in the municipality of Celaya.
These systems, which will be operating at the city theater, monitoring and traffic light control, the northern command dormitories, C-4, and the Celaya DIF, aim to contribute to greenhouse gas mitigation by using renewable energy, in addition to generating electricity.
Additionally, awareness of environmental education for sustainability in the public sector is promoted through modern, innovative, and environmentally friendly technologies.
584 monocrystalline photovoltaic modules with a capacity of 500 watts began operating through a joint investment of 7.3 million pesos between SAMA through the Environmental Fund and the Municipality.
Christopher Gonzalez Navarro, Undersecretary of Environmental Management representing the Secretary of Water and Environment, said that coordinated teamwork generates significant results, enabling us to achieve goals that consolidate energy efficiency and education.
“In the People’s Government, we promote environmentally friendly technologies and clean energy that contribute to the ongoing fight against climate change,” said the State Official.
The Secretary of Water and Environment continues to consolidate projects that contribute to the use of renewable energy to protect the environment and improve people’s quality of life.
