SABES High School students achieve their pass to the WER 2024 National Robotics Tournament

The Advanced Baccalaureate and Higher Education System in the State of Guanajuato, SABES and the World Educational Robot Contest, WER, held the 2024 edition of the State Educational Robotics Tournament, where 13 teams passed to the national stage of the competition.
This year, the State stage of the prestigious tournament had the participation of the 40 best SABES Baccalaureate teams from its seven regions, bringing together a total of 120 students and 33 advisors. Of the 13 teams qualified for the national tournament that will be held next October, 8 teams will compete in the Master category and 5 in the beginner category.
State education Authorities were in the competition event.
Through his speech and opening declaration of the event, Jose de la Luz Martinez Romero recognized the efforts of SABES to carry out robotics events, in which its students have managed to stand out and succeed at an international level. He mentioned that the experience that the WER gives them will provide knowledge and skills that will last a lifetime.
“Today, robotics is not only used for the production of cars, but is applied in the different sciences of humanity, being here reflects your preference for robotics, you all have the capacity, patience and discipline to develop and drive a robot. These competitions will help you define how far you want to go, good luck and may the best succeed,” said Alberto Diosdado, General Director of SABES.
Alejandro Pineda Zamora told participants that the WER over the years is an experience of a lifetime and invited them to take advantage of the tournament to work as a team and collaboratively, always focusing on the present and giving themselves the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with their other colleagues.
The 2024 State Educational Robotics Tournament has the objective of promoting the interest and development of SABES students in the scientific and technological fields, so that through robotics they put into practice and strengthen their knowledge, creativity, work in team and ability to solve problems, thus developing technological, transversal and socio-emotional competencies.
Prior to this competition, during the months of February and March, 5 regional eliminatory tournaments were held at SABES, where 141 teams and a total of 423 students participated.
SABES recognizes the effort and dedication of each of the teams present in the State stage of the tournament, SABES also congratulates and wishes the greatest success to the students who will represent the institution in the national phase where they will compete for a place in the International Tournament of the WER.
