Relatives of patients will have a shelter

Construction of the Maternity Hospital Shelter in the Northeast is progressing in San Luis de La Paz

Health Secretary Gabriel Cortes Alcala supervised the progress of the construction of the San Luis de la Paz Maternity Hospital Shelter.

This new shelter will be named “Padre Pio” and is intended to dignify the stay of relatives of patients, where they will be provided with food, shelter and protection from the elements.

This work is being done thanks to the request of the Board of Trustees of the Maternal Hospital of the Northeast San Luis de la Paz, AC and will have facilities and conditions that are decent and necessary to provide temporary lodging, personal hygiene and food to the relatives of patients who are receiving care at the Maternal Hospital of San Luis de la Paz.

Construction of the shelter is progressing on a 4,000 m2 plot of land, donated by the municipality of San Luis de la Paz, it will have 25 beds for women and 15 beds for men, as well as a cafeteria, kitchen, bathrooms, showers, laundry area and chapel.

There are 21 established Boards, 37 Volunteer Groups, 11 operated Shelters integrated into CEPAV and one more is in the process that support the relatives of patients who receive care in the Hospital Network of the State Secretary of Health.

One of them is the Patronato del Materno de San Luis de la Paz, made up of women and men committed to serving their fellow man.

Cortes Alcala acknowledged that the groups of Patronages, Volunteers and Shelters represent the cornerstone of the Health System in terms of the care of the relatives of hospitalized patients, so that their stay is more comfortable while the health of their loved ones evolves.
