The Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, presided over the ceremony for the laying of the first stone of the Third Edgebanding Plant of the REHAU Company, where 25 million dollars will be invested and 300 new jobs will be created for Guanajuatense families.
“It is an honor to be with the directors of REHAU Mexico and Central America, in the laying of the cornerstone of its third plant, here in Apaseo El Grande. Great news for Guanajuato and for Mexico”, said the Governor.
The new plant will produce edgebanding and “T” moldings for the furniture industry.
The Governor recalled that the REHAU company was founded in 1948, in these 74 years it has written a story of greatness. We are talking about more than 20,000 employees globally and with a presence in more than 190 cities in 54 countries.
Rodriguez Vallejo said that in Apaseo El Grande, REHAU has 2 plants and today the cornerstone of what will be its third plant is being laid. The company specializes in the production of materials for the manufacture of furniture, windows, magnetic seals, refrigeration doors and products for the automotive industry.
“This is a significant and hopeful act, because it makes us see the future with optimism, always trusting in our strengths”, said the Governor.
Rodriguez Vallejo thanked the directors of REHAU for their trust in Guanajuato. “We know that we were competing with other places, such as Torreon, Monterrey and Dallas for the construction of this new plant. But you have made the right decision and you are in the right place today”, said the Governor.
Rodriguez Vallejo noted that with the announcement of this expansion of the REHAU company, Guanajuato is consolidated as the best destination for investments in Mexico.
“In our administration, we have already registered the attraction of investment projects that add up to 4 thousand 789 million dollars, we are already close to the six-year goal of 5 billion dollars”, said the Governor.
The company, founded in 1948, in Rehau, Germany, is a multinational company headquartered in Switzerland, and with its global operations headquarters in Germany, dedicated to the transformation of polymers for the automotive, construction, and industrial sectors.
Rehau has three factories in Mexico; two in Apaseo el Grande and one in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.
This new plant will be located on a 4-hectare site and will have an area of 13,500 square meters.
