Sparks fly on the third day of clashes in the “Recharge2 Robot Battle”

The energy, enthusiasm and skill of Junior High School students were present on the third day of the “Recarga2 Robot Battle”, a round in which 21 teams from different municipalities of Guanajuato took part to compete with their robots, designed and built by the students.

On this day, the teams were eliminated in adrenaline-filled pitch battles.

The qualifying round consisted of three thrilling all round battle, with seven teams in each match testing their 14-pound robots in elimination bouts. The top two teams in each battle advanced to the next round, where they will face off against each other for a spot in the semi-finals.

The Venados, Golden Warriors, Bumblebee, Monarcas, Ciber-Tele and Team Makers teams managed to defeat their tough opponents inside the cage. Now it’s time to get the robots back in shape so that tomorrow they can enter again and advance to the semifinals and the grand finale.  

Each team contributed their abilities and effort to make this competition a space for learning and growth in robotics and technology.

On stage there is not only a fair healthy competition among young students, but also promoted is the learning in science, technology and engineering, encouraging the development of key skills for the future, such as critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork.

The teams that took part in the hostilities on Thursday were:

  • INDEBOTS 2.0 from Dolores Hidalgo, Cradle of National Independence; COYOLEG from San Diego de la Union; THOTHS BICENTENARIO from San Miguel de Allende; Venados, Alebrijes and Monarcas from San Jose Iturbide; Titanes and Golden Warriors from Salamanca; Hot Wheels 32 from Irapuato; Delfines, Red Thunder and Blue Thunders from Celaya; Catarina RC and Quetza-Bot from Valle de Santiago; Team Maker’s from Penjamo; Evil Queens from Salvatierra; Ciber-Tele from Jaral del Progreso; Queens from Salvatierra and Bumblebee, RoboShark and Esol from Leon, the host city

The “Recarga2 Robot Battle” has not only been an event full of adrenaline and excitement, but also an invaluable opportunity for students to apply their knowledge in a competitive and collaborative environment.

As the final rounds approach, the excitement grows, and all eyes are on the semi-finalists who will fight for victory.
