Purisima is ready to support migrants

Purisima del Rincon is in close contact with Mexican groups abroad in case of deportations. The lesser number of mobility will be registered in visitors to events of La Judea

Roberto Garcia Urbano, Mayor of Purisima del Rincon, confirmed that his Administration is in close contact with groups of migrants in the United States, in case it is necessary to provide any service upon the new policies of the new Government of the US.

Garcia Urbano said that the Municipality has not received until now an official report about any locals in a deportation process, but they are definitely in contact through the Coordination of Attention to Migrants with different groups, to be on alert in case any assistance is required.

Purisima del Rincon is one of the municipalities with an economy that does not depend so much from money transfers.

According t0 the Bank of Mexico of the 46 municipalities of Guanajuato, Purisima is in position 44 in money transfers by migrants, Santiago Maravatio is 45 and Atarjea is 46, this does not mean that most of our migrants, who are now living in the US, left with their direct relatives and come back only for vacation and to enjoy our traditions.

Perhaps Purisima may register an important reduction in the number of visitors for the celebration of La Judea, since this is the time when Purisimenses living abroad come back to Purisima to enjoy their identity and culture, but now to care for their safety in the United States, it may happen that they will reduce their stay in Purisima, said the Mayor.

“In the case any deportation occurred Purisima has planned to assist with counseling, jobs, help in returning home to guarantee their safety, assistance or support in attention to migrants and their families”, said Mayor Garcia Urbano.
