Offerings, evolution, life, work, traditions, multiculturalism, flowers, alfenique candies, colorful sawdust carpets, and characters that made history, all eternal elements that give Purisima del Rincon its name, are part of the Day of the Dead altars currently adorning the Main Square.

The display is anchored by the largest altar in the region and 17 accompanying smaller altars.

The 15-meter mega altar is not dedicated to a single person but rather to the multicultural identity of Purisima del Rincon that has marked its origins and history through time. It highlights evolution, the countryside, pottery, livestock, stone, the molcajete (mortar and pestle), the arrival of the telephone, the bakery tradition, color, power lines, and the path to go forward, according to Purisima del Rincon Mayor, Roberto Garcia Urbano. The mayor extended an invitation to celebrate the Day of the Dead tradition throughout the entire weekend.

Education institutions and municipal departments put together the exhibition to recognize those who left a legacy among the people of Purisima del Rincon.

A total of 17 altars were installed by various teams that thoroughly researched the traditional elements of this Mexican offering. During the tour, the Mayor presented participants with special acknowledgments: an artisanal figure featuring the face of the Judas from the local La Judea tradition (a symbol of Purisima’s identity) on one side and a Catrina (elegant skeleton) on the other.

The exhibit will remain open from October 31 to November 2, coordinated by the Municipal Education Department, with the altars scheduled to be taken down on the afternoon of November 2.
Following the awards ceremony, the public enjoyed a pre-Hispanic dance performance on the esplanade of the Municipal Presidency, lending a special touch to the celebration of this significant date.

Themes highlighted among the altars included tributes to local figures, historical personalities, benefactors, and renowned artists.

The displays honored local figures such as:
- Ismael Gaona Valadez, Lazaro Orozco Franco, Jose de Jesus Ramirez Renteria, Elvia Carrillo Puerto, Jorge Hernandez, Carmen Vazquez Flores, Fortino Lopez Robles, and Juan Quiroz Arriaga, among other.
With this activity, Purisima del Rincon reaffirms its commitment to keeping alive the traditions that strengthen cultural identity and community unity.

The event saw participation from municipal departments, Purisima del Rincon social groups, schools, and other local collectives.
