By carrying out public works, the People’s Government improves the quality of life of families and generates jobs
Of the 444 contracts awarded by the SOP, 439 went to local companies

During 2024, the Secretary of Public Works -SOP- made an investment of $4,317,013,862.96 pesos, an amount from a total of 444 contracts, of which 439 were for local companies and only 5 for foreign companies.
This was reported by the head of the SOP, Juan Pablo Perez Beltran, who stressed that in 2025 the instructions of the Governor, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, will continue to be followed to prioritize local companies to ensure that the generation of jobs and all the benefits generated by public works remain for the families of Guanajuato.
Perez Beltran said that the contracts with foreign companies were due to the speciality required for the work requested in the actions.
“The governor is very clear about the importance of the construction sector in the state’s economy, which is why she has asked us to support local construction companies, but also to disperse the work, that is to say: that the contracts are not concentrated in a few companies, but rather that the greatest possible number of construction companies are benefited,” said the head of the SOP.
Perez Beltran, noted that, in addition to the benefits offered by the construction of roads, bridges, medical units, sports facilities, etc., public works generate jobs that allow thousands of families to support their homes.
