Protection and Security Plan 2024 starts

Federal, State and Municipal Authorities launched the Operacion San Cristobal Operative to safeguard Guanajuatenses and visitors in Guanajuato

In order to safeguard and protect people and their property during this holiday period of Holy Week and Easter Week, with a state of force made up of a total of 21,071 federal, state and municipal elements, as well as support and emergency groups, Operation San Cristobal 2024 began.

From March 21 to April 7 of this year, the prevention and surveillance operation in matters of civil protection will be deployed throughout the state territory, which will have the support of 3,672 vehicle units including patrols, ambulances, motor pumps, cranes, motorcycles and first response units, boats, helicopters, among others.

Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, with the Secretary of State Public Security Alvar Cabeza de Vaca Appendini, as well as federal and municipal authorities, gave the starting signal to the personnel of the different corps of security and emergency.

Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo pointed out that the objective of the operation is to generate preventive security, health and emergency actions that allow safeguarding the integrity of Guanajuatenses and visitors during the Holy Week and Easter.

Rodriguez Vallejo noted that through the various Divisions of the FSPE, mobile patrols will be deployed in coordination with federal, state and municipal police authorities in areas of high concentration of people, in addition to having the support of the fleet of helicopters for ground and air surveillance.

The Secretary of Public Security of the State, Alvar Cabeza de Vaca Appendini, recognized the done by all the participants in the operation and highlighted the coordination tasks that are carried out during the holiday season.

Likewise, the head of the SSPE urged citizens to heed the recommendations of the public security and emergency authorities.

Mayor of Leon, Alejandra Gutierrez, noted that coordinated work is the strength to redouble the effort and promote greater security and safeguards in terms of civil protection.
