Progress of municipalities in social prevention is evaluated

Representatives from Acambaro, Apaseo El Alto, Coroneo, Jerecuaro, Tarimoro and Tarandacuao attend meeting with the Undersecretary of Prevention

In order to follow up on the work being carried out on priority security issues, as well as promoting the integration of security links, the eleventh meeting of social prevention links for violence and crime was held in Apaseo El Grande.

Through the Undersecretary of Prevention, the Secretary of Security and Peace of Guanajuato provides support and advice to the 46 Municipalities of the State so that they can plan and organize social prevention activities against violence and crime.

Representatives from Acambaro, Apaseo El Alto, Coroneo, Jerecuaro, Tarimoro and Tarandacuao were in the meeting in Apaseo el Grande. Elia Barbara Lugo Delgado, Undersecretary for Prevention of the State of Guanajuato, said that for the Government of the People it is a priority to work on crime prevention.

Lugo added that prevention is just as important as intelligence work and operations, since it is “through prevention that the points that are important to prevent crimes from being committed are identified and analyzed.”

Welcoming those attending the meeting, Jose Luis Oliveros Usabiaga, Mayor of Apaseo el Grande, said that since everyone is part of the solution to build peace in the State, joint and coordinated work is important.

The municipal liaisons of the region presented their respective progress in prevention, as well as the results of the activities carried out, including prevention campaigns, workshops and the fulfillment of commitments.

Besides Officials of the Undersecretary for Prevention of the Secretary for Security and Peace present in the event were Mayors and other municipal Officials.
