Planet Youth in Guanajuato
Planet Youth is a methodology for the prevention of addictions for girls, boys and teenagers, that has been adapted to the reality of the population of Guanajuato; it is focused on public health and works to find out what are the factors of risk that lead teenagers to use drugs.
This model has been used in all the continents and is taken from the Iceland Model. It is now applied in more than 200 communities in Europe and Latin America.
Guanajuato is a pioneer
This is the first time that the Icelandic Institute has signed an agreement with a State and not with a country; the program started in 2020 in Leon, Irapuato, Guanajuato, Silao and Celaya.
In 2021, 20 more municipalities from Guanajuato were added to the program, and in 2022 this process will be applied in the 46 municipalities of Guanajuato.
