Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo presented the 2026 Strawberry Festival, one of the most beloved celebrations for families in Guanajuato, which this year is strengthened as a space for community, identity, and development for Irapuato and the entire region.

In a festive and welcoming atmosphere with the families of Irapuato, the Governor announced that the opening day will be completely free of charge, a day that has been called “The Day of the People”, so that everyone can enjoy this great celebration.

The fair will be held from March 13 to 29 at the Inforum Irapuato, during 17 days in which this venue will become the heart of family gatherings, with shows, culture, traditions and opportunities for local commerce.
The Governor noted that this edition is designed as an inclusive, accessible and welcoming fair, where all families can find spaces to enjoy, socialize and consume products made in Guanajuato.

To make it possible, the People’s Government and the Municipal Government of Irapuato are making a joint investment of 81 million pesos, of which 65 million are contributed by the State and 16 million by the Municipality, resources intended to provide a dignified, safe and quality celebration.

“This investment is designed with families, community, and the local economy in mind. We want this fair to create real opportunities for our people,” said the Governor.
Mayor of Irapuato, Lorena Alfaro Garcia, said that the Strawberry Fair is a celebration that is built from and for the people, a space of peace, coexistence and pride that strengthens the social fabric and the identity of Irapuato.

Alfaro acknowledged the support of the State Government in making this edition possible and noted that this festival represents a meeting point where families from neighborhoods and communities can live together, enjoy themselves and reunite in a safe, accessible and inclusive environment.
“The fair is much more than entertainment: it is an opportunity to build community, boost our entrepreneurs and reaffirm the pride of being from Irapuato,” said the Mayor of Irapuato.

More than 500,000 people are expected to attend, generating an economic impact of over 190 million pesos, which will strengthen commerce, tourism, and families in the region.
At the 2026 Strawberry Fair, visitors can enjoy amusement rides, a family ice show, the traditional palenque (cockfighting arena), and pavilions such as Marca Guanajuato, where more than 200 artisans will offer products made with Guanajuatense talent.
