Police of Leon gets more gear

The Secretary of State Security, Alvar Cabeza de Vaca Appendini, participates in the handover of weapons to the Secretary of Security, Prevention and Citizen Protection of Leon

With the representation of Governor Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo , the Secretary of Public Security of the State of Guanajuato, Alvar Cabeza de Vaca Appendini, participated in the delivery of equipment to the Secretary of Security, Prevention and Citizen Protection of León.

This day, the delivery of 500 short firearms and 50 long weapons was carried out to equip the public security elements of this municipality, with the purpose of strengthening their institutional capacities for the benefit of the people of León.

Secretary Alvar Cabeza de Vaca Appendini expressed that the arms acquisition process is not simple before the Secretariat of National Defense, which is the only body authorized in Mexico to make international purchases.

Each of the firearms is prepared at the time of request and purchase, subsequently the Secretary of Public Security of the State supervises that the elements comply with the Single Police Certificate, are graduates of the Academy, have the Certification of Skills and Competencies, who comply with the Control and Trust exam, in addition to being registered in the Unique Police Identification Card to maintain this record at the state level.

The Secretary recalled that the ownership of the position allows him in turn to be the holder of the Official Collective Weapons License number 87.

On the other hand, he stressed that security and prevention that addresses risk factors corresponds to the three levels of government and their institutions, without leaving aside the participation of citizens,

The Secretary recognized the work carried out by the León City Council, chaired by Mayor Ale Gutiérrez Campos and the security bodies, for the support and equipment of its elements.

For her part, municipal president Ale Gutiérrez responded to the words of Secretary Alvar Cabeza de Vaca Appendini, endorsing the commitment to prevention every day and the work that must be done among society on the risk factors that can generate violence. Finally, she thanked the support for acquisition management and the coordinated work between the municipality and the state.
