Pirelli continues to grow in Guanajuato, reaching the production of the 50 millionth tire

“In Guanajuato we are allies of investment, which is why today we celebrate that Pirelli is reaching the production of the 50 millionth tire. It is also a reason for satisfaction that this company has inaugurated the First Training Center in its Silao Plant”, said the Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo.

“What Pirelli has done in Guanajuato is impressive, 11 years ago it was just another Plant, and today it is the one with the greatest growth”, said the Governor.

“In 11 years it achieved what other plants would take years to do, for this its human capital has been important; this is the commitment of the people of Guanajuato, who have the desire to succeed,” said the Governor at the ceremony in which the CEO and General Director of Pirelli Mexico, Enrico Verdino, was present.

Rodriguez Vallejo pointed out that in Guanajuato, we feel very proud to have a world-leading company like Pirelli; here they have found an excellent strategic location, as well as logistics, and the certainty of our public policies and, above all, the talent of our human resources.

The Governor highlighted that the inauguration of its Training Center, a new Center for Research, Development, Innovation and Professional Training, is a clear example of Pirelli’s confidence in the talent of our human capital and a very strong drive for innovation, for Mindfacture and Industry 4.0 of Guanajuato.

The Governor noted that also today, reaching tire number 50 million is a source of pride, as it represents the effort, business leadership, innovation and, above all, the talent and commitment of the managers and people who work here.

The CEO and General Director of Pirelli Mexico, Enrico Verdino, thanked the authorities of Guanajuato for the support so that this company continues to carry out more projects that add to the economic and social development of Guanajuato.

The Governor and the CEO of Pirelli had a virtual meeting with young Guanajuatenses who work in different Pirelli plants abroad (Italy, Brazil, United States).

 “They are young people who have raised the name of Guanajuato very highly abroad. They make us proud and we have supported them from the State Government, through different training programs,” said the Governor of Guanajuato.

Since its inauguration on May 31, 2012, Pirelli’s total investment in the Silao Plant, in Guanajuato Puerto Interior, amounts to more than 900 million dollars.

Founded in 1872, Pirelli is one of the largest tire producers in the world in terms of sales. It has a presence in more than 160 countries, has 20 factories in the world and employs 37 thousand people. It is a leader in the production of high and ultra-high performance tires.
