With an investment of 13 million dollars, the Italian company opens a new plant in Leon, dedicated to the processing of leather for car interiors, with a projection of 540 jobs

The opening of the new plant of the Italian company Pasubio, dedicated to the processing of leather for automotive interiors, confirms the leadership of the State of Guanajuato in the manufacturing sector.
Representing Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, the Secretary of Government, Jorge Daniel Jimenez Lona, with the Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, inaugurated the new premises of the Pasubio company, with an initial investment of 13 million dollars, starting operations with a projection of 540 direct jobs in the next three years, consolidating itself as a generator of jobs for the benefit of the people of Guanajuato.
“Thank you for choosing our State to take the next step in your global strategy, with the same passion and commitment to quality that has inspired you since 1959. We know that you have production plants in Italy, Germany, Serbia and South Africa, but we are sure that this new plant will be the great boost to advance in the American market, because here you have a State with all the infrastructure conditions and, above all, talent, to produce with world-class quality,” said Jimenez Lona.
The Official said that this dynamism will be strengthened in the coming years, because the Government of the People teams up with society and with the best companies in Mexico and the world, “so far in this new beginning, Guanajuato has already added more than two thousand twenty-two million dollars in investments from all over the world, facts that translate into 4,343 new and good jobs committed, in factories and distribution centers that strengthen the logistical leadership of our State and consolidate Guanajuato as one of the most competitive automotive clusters on the continent.”
The Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, reiterated that Guanajuato has positioned itself as a leader in the automotive and auto parts sector, with a network of suppliers and companies that have known how to take advantage of the opportunities of nearshoring.
Villasenor said that, with the vision of the New Beginning and the Government of the People, ‘we want to attract targeted and complementary investments that fill strategic spots in the value chains’.
“Leon, with its tradition in tanning, is the ideal place for this investment. Pasubio shows us that the leather industry can evolve and find new markets in the automotive sector. Thanks to this commitment, we can proudly say that the leather of Leon will be present in seats, headrests and panels of iconic high-end brands,” said Villasenor Aguilar.
The new Pasubio plant specializes in cutting leather for seats, headrests and door panels for premium brands such as:
- BMW, Maserati, Volkswagen, Skoda and Stellantis
