This operation seeks to protect families during the holiday period that spans from December 11, 2025 to January 7, 2026

The Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, kicked off Operation Guadalupe-Reyes, in which society, agencies and institutions of the three levels of Government participate in activities of public security, prevention and attention to accidents and emergencies during the 2025-2026 holiday period.
“We are launching this operation with the commitment, with the firm conviction to protect the people of Guanajuato, our visitors, and our families. Our vision is to safeguard the well-being and property of our people,” said the Governor.
In total, 50 State, Federal and Municipal agencies, emergency services, security forces, schools, civil associations and business organizations are joining together with the common purpose of taking care of people from December 11, 2025 to January 7, 2026.
“More than 22,800 women and men from all agencies, supported by 3,813 vehicles, will be dedicated to ensure safety and prevention in this operation. Guanajuato is ready, Guanajuato is united, Guanajuato is taking care of you,” said the Governor.
The operation’s actions are designed to prevent accidents, protect people from extreme cold, and reduce risks associated with mobility, fireworks, and mass gatherings.
The deployment consists of:
- Surveillance on state and federal highways
- Patrols in communities
- Monitoring the handling and sale of fireworks
- Event support
- Awareness campaign on the prevention of illneses, fires and accidents at home
Guanajuato counts with:
- 141 temporary shelters
- In 46 municipalities
- With a capacity for 25,824 people
- They are ready to be activated if low temperatures require it
In addition, 911 and the State Emergency Management Center will be operating continuously to coordinate the response with Civil Protection, Firefighters, Red Cross, SUEG, National Guard, SEDENA and Municipal and State security areas.
This operation is fully aligned with the Confia Security Strategy, which prioritizes operational coordination, strategic intelligence, presence in the territory, and the construction of safe environments for everyday life.
