The Secretary of Public Security of Guanajuato, Alvar Cabeza de Vaca Appendini, and Undersecretary of Security, Martin Octavio Luque Lucio, participate in the course called Executive Leadership Training.
This course is taught by the Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs of the Department of State of the United States of America -INL- and the Miami-Dade Police Department.
For four days, authorities from the states of Baja California, Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Sonora, Aguascalientes, Coahuila, Durango, Guanajuato, Nuevo Leon, San Luis Potosi, Tamaulipas, Colima. Jalisco, Michoacan, Nayarit, Puebla, Queretaro, Mexico City, State of Mexico and Quintana Roo, participate in the training that is based in Mexico City.
The training work that has been carried out permanently with the support of the Embassy of the United States of America in Mexico, was launched by Leah Pease, Director of INL.
Subsequently, specialists and professionals in the field will address relevant topics such as:
- Police ethics standards and law enforcement officers
- Internal Affairs Investigations
- Officers’ Bill of Rights and Institutional Discharge
- Police corruption, early intervention system and proactive investigations
- Use of force policy
- Field Officer Training
- Assessment Program Overview
Attendees from the different States of the Mexican Republic will be integrated into teams that will have the responsibility of developing a project through which they demonstrate the technique of the acquired knowledge.
Among the topics that will be addressed are:
- Human trafficking; kidnapping; femicides; and homicides, in the latter, is where the state of Guanajuato will have participation alongside states such as Aguascalientes, Coahuila, Durango, Nuevo Leon, San Luis Potosi and Tamaulipas
At the end, the representative of each team will present the Capstone project with which the members will have the opportunity to defend and demonstrate the competence, benefits and means for the application of said project in which they must primarily correctly apply the knowledge and experience acquired.
