Governor and security agencies agreed on strategies towards a safer environment in the State

In an Extraordinary Session of the Guanajuato Operational Intelligence Group (GIO), the Governor of the State, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, together with representatives of various security institutions, agreed to implement targeted strategies to reduce high-impact crimes in the State.
At the meeting, the importance of improving the coordination and presence of security corporations in different regions of the State was discussed.
The arrival of the new municipal authorities and the need to ensure that the elements assigned to the municipal public security departments abide to the necessary evaluations prior to their appointments were highlighted.
The Secretary of Government, Jorge Daniel Jimenez Lona, and the Secretary of Security and Peace, Juan Mauro Gonzalez Martinez, were present at the Session.
Also present were the Commander of the 12th Military Region, General Maximiliano Cruz Ramos; the Commander of the 16th Military Zone, Francisco Javier Zubia Gonzalez, and the Coordinator of the National Guard in Guanajuato, Rogelio Garcia Perez.
Also present were the State Delegate of the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic, Gerardo Vazquez Alatriste; the Attorney General of the State of Guanajuato, Carlos Zamarripa Aguirre, and the Head of the Guanajuato Station of the National Intelligence Center, Pascual Ortiz Mejia.
In this session, the Governor of Guanajuato agreed to be present in person and permanently at these operational coordination tables.
Libia Dennise reaffirmed the commitment by the State Government to preserve citizen peace and that the integral work of the security forces is crucial to face the security challenges towards a better environment for Guanajuato.
