“We are very proud to be here today at Casa Oaxaca, a space that will represent this wonderful state during the Cervantino Festival. For us, having Oaxaca here is a great privilege,” said the Governor of Guanajuato, when visiting Casa Oaxaca located at Plaza de la Paz #62.
In this place, the colors, flavors and textures of the cultural and gastronomic wealth of Oaxaca will provide a multisensory experience for those who visit.
Traditional cooks, master tequila and mezcal makers, and Oaxacan artisans will be the stars of this Cervantes festival.
The Governor also visited the art exhibitions of the guest State of honor, Oaxaca. The offering includes a selection of art exhibitions, including renowned visual artists from Oaxaca, Oaxacan codices and canvases, as well as works by contemporary and emerging artists.
Oaxacan paintings and photographs are on display at the Museo Regional de Guanajuato Alhondiga de Granaditas, a venue that houses three important exhibits that highlight the cultural and archaeological wealth of Oaxaca, as well as the ethnic diversity of Mexico.
These exhibitions are:
- Archaeological Tombs of Oaxaca
- Traditional Zapotec Altar
- 16 Cultures and the Afro-Mexican and Sonoro People of the 15 Languages
