Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, witnessed the announcing of the manufacture of the new Mazda CX-3 model, at the Plant in Salamanca.
“Today we are very pleased to witness the new model being added to their production line. We are talking about the Mazda CX-3 SUV that will no longer be manufactured at its Hiroshima Plant in Japan, and bring all the production of this unit to Mexico”, said the Governor.
The Mazda CX-3 model arrived in our country in July 2015 and since then it had been imported, now it will be produced and sold in Mexico.
Throughout its almost 7 years of history, the Japanese CX-3 SUV has received constant equipment and design updates, to join now the list of cars manufactured in Guanajuato, just like the Mazda 2 and Mazda 3, sedan and hatchback, recently the CX-30 pickup and the Yaris-R for Japan’s Toyota.
The Japanese manufacturer Mazda de Mexico Vehicle Operation (MMVO) began production in January 2014, and celebrated the production of one million units in Salamanca on February 12, 2020. The unit they celebrated with was a white Mazda CX-30 SUV.
“Today Guanajuato demonstrates once again that we know how to be competitive worldwide. That we can deliver with quality. But also, our human capital has the ability to participate in the generation of new world-class products, as we are witnessing today here at Mazda”, said the Governor.

All of them consolidate the Guanajuato Automotive Cluster as the largest and most dynamic in Latin America.
Guanajuato is the second national producer in the automotive industry, which is represented by more than 400 companies in the first 3 levels of supply and about 2 thousand in total.
With 100 years of operations, Mazda has a presence in 130 countries, and since the opening of this plant in Guanajuato, it has more coverage in the local, North American and European markets. 90 percent of its production in Mexico is exported to more than 33 countries.
The Mazda Salamanca Plant was inaugurated on February 27, 2014, and since then, the Japanese company has invested 785 million dollars in Guanajuato and has generated more than 5,300 jobs.
