With the goal of promoting the development of STEAM skills in SABES High School students through robotic challenges that encourage logical thinking, innovation, creativity and the ability to solve problems, they held the internal competition SABES – World Robot Olympiad 2023.
The 6 winning teams will represent SABES in the WRO Mexico 2023 National Competition that will be held in September in Cancun, Quintana Roo, a competition that will serve as a qualifier for international WRO events.
“In life there are moments in which you must give your maximum effort, today is the day in which you must put into practice what you have learned and trust yourself, never doubt your ability or the skills you have to compete. Enjoy this event, live it, enjoy it and focus on your goal. I wish you much success and we start with the qualifying competition”, said Lirio Lopez Herrera Director of the SABES High School.
Emilio Lopez Bouchan, General Coordinator of WRO Mexico, said he is very happy to return to SABES for one more edition of this competition, he invited the students to enjoy and take advantage of the event, which gives them the great opportunity to learn, not only in in terms of programming and mechanics, but for all the skills required by high-performance and under pressure competition.
This year, the World Robot Olympiad or WRO season will be held under the slogan “Connecting the World, Autonomous Port”, the concept is related to the automation and standardization of ports. To solve the challenge, the robot must perform tasks related to loading, unloading and piloting ships and containers.
The SABES–World Robot Olympiad 2023 internal competition had the participation of 24 teams made up of a total of 72 students and 24 teachers and administrators who served as team coaches. The tournament Staff was made up of 5 people from WRO Mexico who coordinated the dynamics of the tournament.
SABES informed that they congratulate and recognize the work, dedication and effort of all the teams that participated in this tournament. The education institution also wished the greatest success to the students who will represent the school in the national stage.
