Leon/Gto News

The city of Leon stands out nationally and internationally for its innovation, design, technology, and for setting trends in the leather and footwear industry.

With the upcoming second edition of MUSA ANPIC Design Fest, Leon positions itself as a premier national benchmark for supply chain excellence and innovation.

Juan Pablo Becerra Alcacio, Municipal General Director of Economy, representing Leon Mayor Ale Gutierrez, noted the importance of this meeting to strengthen the regions productive ecosystem and elevate the global profile of Leon.

“This second edition in the MUSA format speaks of an industry that evolves, identifies opportunities even in adversity, and opens itself to new markets. Leon has built its history around a strong, hardworking sector that is in constant transformation,” Becerra said.

Evolution and Global Reach

The Director emphasized that the evolution of ANPIC reflects the ability of the industry to adapt to new global market challenges. MUSA ANPIC Design Fest serves as a platform that consolidates the transition from a traditional supply fair into a space that integrates innovation, design, and technology for various fashion-related industries.

This edition expects more than 4,000 visitors from 22 Mexican states, as well as buyers and professionals from Guatemala, the United States, Spain, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic.

Local Strength, International Impact

The Municipal Government of Leon will support the participation of 30 local supplier companies to boost economic development and create new commercial opportunities. Becerra recalled that regional companies recently participated in an international fair in Texas, securing over 6 million pesos in sales in just three days, demonstrating the competitive potential of local businesses in global markets.

Fernando Padilla, president of the Association of Industrial Suppliers of Mexico (APIMEX), noted that MUSA is an evolution of traditional supply meetings, expanding its reach to connect the industry with design and new business prospects.

“MUSA emerges as a space that connects suppliers, designers, brands, and companies to share ideas and anticipate market direction. Before a shoe, a bag, or a garment exists, there are first the materials, components, technology, and development,” Padilla noted.

Innovation at the Core

MUSA ANPIC will feature 71 stands and more than 80 supplier companies.

Exhibitors will showcase specialized materials and components including:

  • Lasts, soles, and hardware
  • Leathers, skins, and textiles
  • Synthetic materials and jewelry
  • Furniture supplies and specialized technological solutions

The program also includes the MUSA Design Fest, a dedicated space for knowledge and trends where specialists and industry leaders will share their vision on the changes transforming product development and fashion.

These gatherings consolidate Leon as the heart of Mexican supply, bringing together the talent and vision that drive the global market.
