Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo was at the presentation of the title and logo of the Collective Brand of Molcajetes from Comonfort.
Permanent support
The Governor noted that the support of the State Government to Comonfort will be permanent and to potentiate its development they were able to obtain the title and logo of the Collective Brand of Molcajetes from Comonfort, Guanajuato, certified by the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property.
Ancestral vocation
“This is a registry that honors an ancestral vocation, such as the manufacturing of molcajetes by our talented artisans of volcanic stones, real artists of the mallet, the hammer and the chisel”, said the Governor.
“It is a hard process that starts with the extraction of the raw material from the quarry on the hills, and which ends up in the shops of our artisans who transform the stone in molcajetes, metates and decorative items”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
Results amid the pandemic
The Governor recognized the work of the “Association of Artisans of Volcanic Stone of Comonfort, Guanajuato, Millenary Mexican Tradition”, that in coordination with Local Authorities and the University of Celaya, promoted the registry of the brand during the lockdown because of the pandemic.
“Congratulations once again, to the artisans from Comonfort”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
More brands
“This is the tenth collective brand registered in Guanajuato to the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property and it is a success story on behalf of one of the original vocations of Guanajuato”, said the Governor.
An origin denomination brand, said Rodriguez Vallejo, adds value to the product, generates identity, increases the sales potential, makes consumers trust and makes it easy to put up a business plan.
