IDEA GTO was part of the launch of the Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) called MIT REAP Focus Mexico at the Mexico City Campus of the Tecnologico de Monterrey.
The Valley of Mindfacture will be part of this program.
For 18 months, a core team of leading people from Guanajuato will work to identify capabilities, formulate an acceleration model, and apply initiatives to innovate and undertake with the MIT methodology.
The MIT REAP program engages with communities around the world to strengthen innovation-based business ecosystems to drive economies. One of the objectives is to form technology-based companies. In the case of Mexico, it will have four workshops, four phases of action, participation in a global innovation network, among other activities.
The Valley of Mindfacture joins this initiative along with other cities in Mexico such as: Mexico City, Guadalajara, Queretaro and Chihuahua. Guanajuato is present through the Valley of Mindfacture as the only ecosystem that participates as a region.
The MIT REAP methodology has been applied in more than 70 ecosystems around the world. With this activity, the Valley of Mindfacture joins a global network of ecosystems led by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The acceleration of the Valley of Mindfacture with the MIT REAP program is part of Governor Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo’s strategy to promote mindfacture in Guanajuato.
