The People’s Government and the Federal Government began informational meetings with Mayors to explain the details of the Solis Aqueduct hydraulic project.

On the instruction of Governor, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, these meetings were convened to clarify doubts and provide information about this hydraulic infrastructure project, which involves 10 municipalities and consists of a 200 kilometer aqueduct.

“Every infrastructure project of this magnitude will encounter opposition, but today what is most important is to be able to share information that allows us to be certain that water will not be taken away from the municipalities; moreover, that the water from the Solis Dam will not be used. That will not happen. That is why we are moving forward with the technological upgrades, so that the volume of water saved through its efficient use on the fields can be distributed to these 5 municipalities”, said the Governor.

“I invite anyone who has concerns and doubts like those that have been expressed, to come to us so we can share this information with them,” said the State Governor.
On behalf of the Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, the Secretary of Government, Jorge Daniel Jimenez Lona, led the start of the meetings with Municipalities for briefings on the Solis Dam aqueduct project.

These meetings included the participation of Aaren Mastache Mondragon and Felipe Zatarain Mendoza, deputy directors general of Hydro-agricultural Infrastructure, and of Drinking Water, Drainage and Sanitation, respectively, of the National Water Commission (CONAGUA).
Also participating on behalf of the People’s Government were the Secretary of Water and Environment, Jose Lara Lona, and the Director of Social Communication Coordination, Miguel Angel Mendiola Sanchez, who listened to each of the council members’ questions and requests.

Jimenez Lona considered that these types of meetings are very productive, since through dialogue they were able to dispel the doubts of the members of the City Councils of Acambaro, Salvatierra, Jerecuaro, Tarimoro and Celaya, regarding the aqueduct project.
“It was necessary to have this approach, not only with the Mayors; the Governor asked us to go with the City Councils so that the information is provided directly,” said Jimenez Lona.

“We are going to continue going to the municipalities to provide information, so that they know about these great projects, the benefits they have and, above all, that it is for all of Guanajuato,” said the Secretary of Government.
“Many important questions for us, the people of Acambaro, were answered. Today I want to clearly state, reaffirm, and reiterate my full support for the citizens of Acambaro,” said Claudia Silva Campos, Mayor of Acambaro.
“Let’s hope this meeting bears fruit. I definitely leave feeling more at ease, as the council now knows a little more about the project’s progress,” said Silva Campos.

“It will bring positive things for the countryside and for the producers of the region; the benefits are greater investment in infrastructure for the municipality of Salvatierra; of course, the aqueduct will go hand in hand with the modernization,” explained the Mayor of Salvatierra, Jorge Daniel Samano Jimenez.
“They explained the scope of the project to us; they assured us that there will be no impact on the dam itself, that there will be no decrease in water levels, and that the savings will only come from water used for irrigation and the modernization of the system. We leave feeling a little more at ease knowing that our voices can be heard,” said Mari Isabel Ascevedo Mercado, Mayor of Jerecuaro.

“Seeing images of where the SEDENA is working, lining the canals, how the piping is progressing, how the modernization will be, I don’t see anything negative about the project, everything is positive,” said Saul Trejo Rojas, Mayor of Tarimoro.
“I believe this is an extraordinary project because this aqueduct will allow users in District 011 to modernize their production. This represents profits for them, and on the other hand, the water saved through this modernization will be sent to Celaya, Salamanca, Irapuato, Silao, and Leon, so they won’t have any problems. I am convinced it is a good project,” said Juan Miguel Ramirez Sanchez, Mayor of Celaya.
