This strategy promotes the consumption of local products to protect and generate jobs for MSMEs in Guanajuato

Guanajuato closes 2025 with more than 8,400 local micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) bearing the ‘Marca Guanajuato’ (Guanajuato Brand) emblem. As of November 2025, 445 Guanajuatense companies had joined the program.

During its first 10 years, this program is consolidated as a pillar of the economic policy of the People’s Government, led by Governor Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo.

The Secretary of Economy, Claudia Cristina Villasenor Aguilar, noted that Marca Gto, in addition to promoting local consumption to strengthen the internal economy, fosters balanced development and prosperity for families and businesses with the seal.
Updated to version 2.0, the emblem incorporates social inclusion, equality and environmental sustainability, strengthening local businesses to make them more competitive in global markets and promoting the consumption of local products.

Marca Gto already has a presence in most of the municipalities of Guanajuato.
In total, the Guanajuato Brand companies generate more than 63,800 jobs in the following sectors:
- Agro-food, leather and footwear, textiles and clothing, construction, information technologies, services and commerce

In 2025, more than 54.9 million pesos were generated in 39 marketing events with the participation of more than 1,890 economic units in the municipalities:
- Abasolo, Acambaro, Apaseo el Alto, Apaseo el Grande, Cueramaro, Dolores Hidalgo CIN, Guanajuato, Irapuato, Leon, Manuel Doblado, Purisima del Rincon, San Francisco del Rincon, San Miguel de Allende, Silao and Uriangato and in other events outside of the State

Of the participating companies 83% are micro-enterprises, 13% are small, and the rest are medium or large.
The emblem certifies quality, opens international doors and takes steps towards the Socially Responsible Company (ESR) and Clean Company distinctions.

With this policy of continuity, adapted to global challenges, the people’s government gives greater visibility to Guanajuatense companies to make them more competitive; in addition, consuming Marca Gto strengthens the family economy and positions Guanajuato as a benchmark of prosperity.
