The “Marca GTO” (Brand GTO), which has more than 3 thousand companies as members and gives a common identity to more than 30,000 products from Guanajuato, is getting ready to expand and arrive to different markets through its internationalization of products and opening sales posts abroad.
Promoting local products
Mauricio Usabiaga Diaz Barriga, the Secretary of Economic Sustainable Development, said that through the Subsecretary for the Development of the MiPyME (Micro, Small and Mid Size Companies), the Secretary has worked to better position products from Guanajuato as part of the strategy of the Governor Diego Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo to go on promoting these companies from Guanajuato.
“As a result Marca GTO now has 18 sale posts, all of them in Mexico, where they offer a wide range of products of high quality, because what is made in Guanajuato is well made”, said Usabiaga.
Taking stores abroad
That is the reason why the Secretary is working to open stores of “Marca GTO” in Canada, The United States and Central America, where there is a great potential market that demands products linked to the consumption habits of Guanajuatenses and other hispanics, and also a market of anglo-saxons that recognize the quality of products from Guanajuato.
The variety of products that will be offered is big and with a large variety, it includes eatable products like cajeta, agave licquor, sauces and jelly; natural products for health and beauty like products made of nopal; and products of everyday use like clothes, pottery, crafts and artisans products, just to mention some.
SDES is working in the requirements to export the products that would be “flying” to those new markets.
