The National Lottery, the Government of the State of Guanajuato, and the Municipality of Leon presented the ticket for the Major Draw No. 3998, commemorating the 450th anniversary of the founding of the city of Leon.

This edition recognizes the collective effort of generations who shaped its history, culture, and traditions, as well as the men and women who have built a vibrant, supportive, and visionary city.

The unveiling of the commemorative lottery ticket was presided over by the Director General of the National Lottery, Olivia Salomon; the Governor of the State of Guanajuato, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo; and the Mayor of Leon, Alejandra Gutierrez Campos, who agreed that today they are celebrating a territory and a community that continues to write its history with strength and a vision for development.

The People’s Governor, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, said that “this commemorative ticket is not just a symbol, it is a fantastic showcase that allows us to share with millions of Mexicans the identity and pride of being Leones.”

“This ticket celebrates 450 years of a living history, a history that beats in every street, in every square, in every corner of Leon. It is an expression of the pride we feel for our roots, for our culture, and for our traditions,” said the Governor.

Each image on this historic commemorative tiket carries with it the essence of our homeland, the history that unites us, and the hope that drives us toward a better future, said Libia Dennise after acknowledging the entire National Lottery team for all the attention received to make this moment possible.

The general director of the National Lottery, Olivia Salomon, said that the issuance of this ticket is a tribute to the living history that continues to beat in Leon and that is part of the historical and productive heart of Guanajuato.

“Celebrating Leon is reaffirming that the future is built from the local level, from the community and from daily work, contributing to the development of Guanajuato and the well-being of Mexico, with the conviction to continue moving towards a more just, inclusive and prosperous Leon for future generations,” said Salomon.

Olivia Salomon, speaking from the National Lottery Theater, said that when a national institution recognizes a city like Leon, it also recognizes the value of local culture, and what unites us as a country.

Alejandra Gutierrez Campos, Mayor of Leon, thanked the National Lottery for paying tribute to the history of Leon, a city that has left its mark in Guanajuato and in the country.

“The first thing we have to do is recognize the work of many generations, of brave, generous, and supportive men and women because we have experienced everything; past generations have gone through many obstacles and we have overcome them all,” said Ale.

“We are proud to be from Leon because of the people of Leon. This beautiful lottery ticket features the lion of the Calzada, but above all, the textiles and many other elements that represent us as Mexicans and that represent Leon,” she said.

The Director General of the National Lottery said that the ticket carries a clear message: that Leon has history, character, and a future, and that its name and memory deserve to be recognized in every corner of Mexico. The Major Draw No. 3998 will be held on Tuesday, January 20th of this year, the date of the founding of Leon.
