Guanajuato presents its greatness at Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos

The greatness of Jalpa de Canovas, in Purisima del Rincon; Yuriria, Salvatierra, Dolores Hidalgo CIN, Mineral de Pozos, and Comonfort, are promoted in the 5th Magical Towns Edition based in Pachuca de Soto, Hidalgo.
Starting yesterday, Wednesday the 22nd, and until November 25th, the Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guanajuato with the Municipal Councils, the service providers and the committees of the six Magical Towns of Guanajuato show the products, attractions, culture, traditions and artistic expressions.
With the tourism sector, Juan Jose Alvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, cut the inaugural ribbon of the stand of the Magic Towns of Guanajuato, destinations that have registered from January to September of this year 967 thousand 536 visitors and 135 thousand 589 tourists.
The stands display “Marca GTO” products such as handicrafts, pre-Hispanic instruments, majolica ceramics, molcajetes, carved wood, ice cream, traditional sweets, crochet, and hand-painted items.
Also on exhibit are ceremonial seals, ixtle fiber jewelry, bronze crafts, bottles of wine and mezcal, dolls with typical costumes, tule fabric, garments with embroidery, jewelry with natural stones, jam and liquor, and costume jewelry.
Surrounded by a folkloric atmosphere, attendees -during the four days of the Tianguis- appreciate the artistic expressions of the Guamares Dance, the Chichimeca Jonaz Dance, and the Warriors of the Sun. In addition, at the gastronomic stand the traditional cook, Eli Jaralillo, offers gastronomic tastings; and Ma. del Carmen Hernandez Mata, and Sanjuana Lino Robledo participate in the traditional medicine stand.
The Magic Town Committees and the City Councils attend to an agenda of business meetings with tourism service providers and tour operators from Mexico and the world, in order to market the tourist benefits of these charming destinations.
In the Magical Towns of Guanajuato, visitors find symbolic attributes, legends, history, transcendent facts, and everyday life. Today, these destinations are considered an important driver of development for the tourism industry.
The Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, presented the Sustainability Model, the only one of its kind in Mexico, which will be developed in the Magic Towns of the State in order to safeguard heritage and natural biodiversity.
The Guanajuato stand presents 12 new wine, cultural, nature and romance tourist experiences generated by eight installed production chains with the participation of 83 tourism service providers.
Both actions “make it possible to strengthen the competitiveness of the tourism sector and for the Magical Towns to continue being a world reference,” said Alvarez Brunel.
Through transversal work between SECTUR Guanajuato with state agencies, municipalities, Committees of the six Magical Towns, and inhabitants, this Sustainability Model will positively impact the integration of society, economic development, and care of the environment.
The program, that reinforces the Sustainable Development Goals, the objectives of the Magical Towns Program in Mexico, and the Objectives of the State strategy for Magical Towns of Guanajuato, contemplates six projects with strategic actions to address areas of common opportunities among the six destinations.
