“We must not forget those who gave their lives saving people, we must remember them with affection and admiration because they were heroes; also remember what we achieved together, that’s why I say with great pride that we have the best health system in Mexico”, said Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo.
The Governor presided over the 3rd. Ordinary Session of the State Health Safety Committee –CESSA- 2023, where he recognized the work of institutions that are members of this Committee during the pandemic.
The State Executive recalled that Guanajuato was one of the first States to take preventive actions against Covid, in a historic, heroic, generous and committed effort.
“It is important to recognize these institutions because they were a fundamental part of this pandemic and we cannot minimize the work that each one of them did,” said the Governor.
With the Secretary of Health, Daniel Alberto Diaz Martinez, the Governor gave recognitions to the heads or representatives of the institutions that make up CESSA, such as the General Coordination of Public Health; the Guanajuato Network of Municipalities for Health; the Mexican Social Security Institute in Guanajuato; the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers in Guanajuato; the PEMEX Regional General Hospital; the Regional Military Hospital of Irapuato; the State Civil Protection Coordination of Guanajuato.
Also awarded were the System for the Integral Development of the Family of Guanajuato -DIF-; the General Administration and Finance Coordination; the General Directorate for Protection Against Sanitary Risks; the State Public Health Laboratory; the State Headquarters of Epidemiology; TV4; the General Coordination of Social Communication.
Also recognized were the Directorate of Health Promotion; “ISAPEG Integral Hospitals that attended the Pandemic”; the State Delegation of the Red Cross and the Association of Firefighters of Guanajuato.
“This recognition is something symbolic for all those who were involved in the Health System; on behalf of all Guanajuatenses, thank you. Thank you for risking your lives, for all you did”, said Rodriguez Vallejo.
“I will never stop recognizing those who were on the line of battle, where more than 160 soldiers lost their lives against this invisible enemy,” said the State Governor.
Rodriguez Vallejo reminded those present that although the pandemic ended, the task is to always preserve health in Guanajuato, and urged them to work with humility and without forgetting that the mission is to help those who need it.
“Feel proud to be part of this great health system in Guanajuato; but let arrogance not win us over, there is much to improve and work on, in all senses”, said the Governor.
