This summer, Guanajuato’s public libraries invite you to experience a unique vacation
León/Gto News
Public libraries in the 46 municipalities of Guanajuato are preparing to welcome children, youth, and adults with a cultural and educational program that will transform summer vacations.

This is the My Holidays at the Library 2025 program, an initiative of the General Directorate of Libraries through the Secretary of Culture with the support of the Municipal Councils .

From July 21 to August 15 , libraries will be filled with free workshops and activities promoting reading, art, and science, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and community interaction.
More than just a place to read, public libraries are becoming living, breathing spaces where knowledge, imagination, and citizen participation intertwine to strengthen the social fabric.

Lizeth Galven Cortes, Secretary of Culture of the State of Guanajuato, emphasized: “My Vacation at the Library is much more than a summer program: it’s an opportunity for our children, youth, and adults to discover, through reading, art, and science, tools to imagine, create, and transform their surroundings. Libraries are living spaces that build community, promote values, and give meaning to free time with educational and meaningful activities.”

From reading aloud sessions to workshops, storytelling, playful science, and art creation, My Library Holidays 2025 offers an accessible, fun, and enriching cultural alternative for all ages.
The invitation is open to the entire population. To learn about the specific programming for each municipality and register for the workshops, we recommend visiting your nearest public library , where library staff will provide personalized assistance and guidance.

The invitation of the Secretary of Culture this summer, from July 21st to August 15th is that you choose to learn, create, and socialize. Visit your local library and be part of this experience that transforms vacations into opportunities for community growth.
