Libia recognizes heroism of the Mexican Army

Libia Dennise attends the commemoration of the 112th anniversary of the Mexican Army

The Governor presented recognition to personnel from the 16th Military Zone and personnel from the 12th Military Region

“Today is a day to thank and recognize every woman and every man who is part of our Armed Forces. In Guanajuato, as in all of Mexico, we are very proud of our Army,” said the Governor of the People, Libia Dennise Garcia Munoz Ledo, during the commemoration of the 112th anniversary of the Mexican Army.

This commemoration was held at the facilities of the XII Military Region, based in Irapuato, where the collaboration of the Armed Forces and the State of Guanajuato in the construction of a safer environment was reaffirmed.

“I want to thank you, on behalf of the people of Guanajuato, for the service that you have given to our Country, and of course to our State, with great dedication and honor. Thank you for your courage, dedication and solidarity in all your actions. For always defending our sovereignty with dignity and honor, for supporting Mexican families,” said Libia Dennise.

Mexican Army Day is a commemorative date established since March 22, 1950 to recognize the work, dedication and commitment of the Armed Forces in the defense of national sovereignty and the maintenance of order and peace in the Country.

The date chosen is on the creation of the Constitutionalist Army on February 19, 1913; this day has the purpose of honoring the men and women who are part of the Mexican Army.

The Governor presented a recognition to personnel of the 16th Military Zone and personnel of the 12th Military Region. Also, the Commander of the 12th Military Region, Vicente Perez Lopez, presented a recognition to the State Governor for her unconditional collaboration with the Armed Forces.

“Today we join our voice to that of millions of Mexicans on this very special day, paying tribute to our men and women of the Army. Because you have the trust of society; and with it you promote unity and patriotism among Mexicans,” said the Governor of the People.

This commemoration was attended by Jorge Jimenez Lona, Secretary of Government; Mauro Gonzalez Martinez, Secretary of Security and Peace of the State of Guanajuato; Lorena Alfaro Garcia, Mayor of Irapuato and representatives of the three levels of government; and members of the business sector and civil society.
